Je crois sincèrement que les jeux video sont à la base du phénomène culturel le plus important de cette décennie. La somme des talents qui conjuguent leur créativité dans ce secteur dépasse l’entendement. Heureusement que les revenus générés par cette industrie – qui dépassent ceux du cinéma – permettent de financer les armées de créatifs, techniciens, managers, nécessaire pour produire ces expériences ludiques.

Car il ne s’agit plus de développer de simples jeux-videos, mais de bâtir des univers multi-sensoriels, des espaces tridimensionnels, peuplés de personnages intelligents, parfois évolutifs, vivant des histoires aux embranchements innombrables, enrobés de cinématique hollywoodienne, de créer de nouveaux paradigmes mélant l’incarnation de personnages par le joueur à cette science nouvelle, le “gameplay” qui combine règles formelles, équilibres subtils, ambiguïtés et polarisations, interactions des possibles avec l’ergonomie des contrôleurs variant du simple gamepad à la balance board.
